Neither neither Display > Bitmap nor ^B are available here until the
pdf opens, with no menu accessible while the hourglass runs on & on.

Had assumed that Windows (and other) pdf readers bitmapped
automatically since "portable doc format" seemed to imply that
-- and the 1000s of pdfs converted here from files using a font
existing only on this computer have brought no complaints from
the Windows-users receiving them.

Shall nevertheless apply Jim's advice if a blank page does appear.
