That's exactly what I want to achieve.

I have printed the three supplements out ok using the adobe reader and
they did print as intended showing the respected pages in sequence even
though they only contain a couple of pages they were still in sequence
by page number when printed.

The 42 page vrpcinuse/pdf however is 42 pages long or 80 pages in the
booklet format which doesn't print out in the same way as the above
three supplements.

Not managed to find a way to print out from the Adobe reader in the
intended format yet, still trying.
