What do you mean by "VirtualAcorn map"?

What happens if you navigate in explorer to the folder containing the VA
program, then right-click it and choose "Run As..." (or whatever W7 offers)?

I put some other ideas in a reply to someone else's post.

I've also just googled for: w7 quadruple click

One hit: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/984859 seems similar, though
it describes someone for whom every app has the problem. They do however
report process manager showing something starting after the first pair of
clicks. [That same page has a link to another page describing how one might
fix the problem but I wouldn't be in a hurry to try to find a W7 equivalent
fix, because it seems to me that it would affect ALL .exe file processing
whereas your problem is just one .exe.]

Another hit mentions quadruple clicks, and someone else's reply suggests
that this might be a UAC (user access control?) thing. But if this were
your problem I'd have expected just a double-click (and wait) to produce
some sort of permissions dialog.

I wonder also if uninstalling & reinstalling VA might help. Possibly one of
the DLLs that VA uses has lots its proper registration - though if that were
so I don't see why VA would ever start.
