I would not expect that to happen if the VRPC window does not have
'focus'.
So, if VRPC is in a window, move the window aside and click on the
Windows
desktop, then do Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Or (if it's like W8, right-click a
blank bit of the taskbar & choose Task Manager off the context menu).
It's been a while since I last used VRPC, but when I did I defined a
custom
mmonitor modefile so that the maximum size window was just a few pixels
less
wide than the laptop's screen, so I could always get a mouse pointer
onto a
non-VRPC-window part of the desktop. Back then, amongst other things,
an
alert from any other program (most likely antivirus or firewall) could
pop
up behind the VRPC window and if one could not get to it the machine
could
appear to be hung.
