That does not happen on my Mac VRPC but does on the two Windows VRPCs.
In va.cfg the value of 'forceselect' needs to be 0 to disable that menu. (On
Windows there is an option to "Show this window at startup" which can be
unticked.)
This is at the top of my Mac va.cfg :-

No, that does not happen here.
