Can you try running it in Compatibility mode for a previous version of
Windows?

Find the VirtualRPCnnn .exe file, click Context menu (Right mouse button)
click "Properties" and then the "Compatibility" Tab.

Tick "Compatibility mode" and select whatever is suitable.

My machine is 64bit Win 7 Pro, but I have VRPC running in Compatibility
mode for XP-SP3
