I followed what Vince suggested when he emailed me and have ticked
"Set Digest Mode" to Off, which should sort out the bundled posts
that I am receiving.

I don't think my original reply has be allowed through the
moderator so I'll try to reply here, but other than dragging all
the replies in-one it will look a bit messy.
I am sorry about this but can't see an easier way to reply other
than all-in-one.

I've heard positive things about Windows 7 but I didn't know VA
could run on it yet.
I will upgrade eventually but atm I've not really got the
confidence to try Windows 7.

I have just found this thread on the forum after Googling thanks,
and Aaron suggests disabling the UAC, which I have had it disabled
from the very start. I also have DirecX version 10.

I have just read through all the VA Forum threads thanks, I had
not realised there was a separate discussion on the VA forum. I
will try out the few tips offered to see how I go, thanks.

After reading the VA forum it does suggest this was one of the
situations when the error occurred.
It definitely happens to me after a hibernation.

I have noticed that Vista does take an age to load completely
(close to five minutes) but my Primary Surface error seems to only
manifest after a hibernation and not when running Vista from a
cold start.
Even so, I will wait to see how it starts next time when its
given more time to load before I do anything.

BTW it has not re-occured since leaving the main VA window in
"full screen", hopefully it may be resolved now, but if not I'll
be back ;-).
