Dear All
I am being very lazy here, I freely confess. Somewhere in Archive and
on threads here, the relevant alterations to the file
/Applications/VirtualAcorn/VirtualRPC-AdjustSA/VirtualRPC.app/
Contents/Resources/VA.cfg
to go straight to one flavour of virtual processor has been set out.
Now I am unable to remember (senior moment here) where it was mentioned.
I need to know because both of my VA laptops were half-inched (too
much Michael Caine) by uninvited guests that I encountered at an
unreasonable time in the morning in my living room. My backup
strategy had foolishly been more concerned with hard-drive failure
and theft of one of them than burglary. Now my files etc were backed
up, to a pair of real RiscPCs and the Mac stuff to a Mac Mini, but I
hadn't duplicated the Mac Applications as I "had them all on CD/DVD".
There are probably several other alterations to that/those files
which would be of general interest and repetition would do no harm.
Even a reference to the articles in Archive would be helpful,
although the prospect of a paper-chase does not appeal, after digging
out receipts etc for the stuff that was taken/smashed and/or burnt.
As an aside, three cheers to our friends in South Derbyshire who
prioritised the unlock codes for my first "new" mac's VA.
Compliments and best wishes of the season.
Paul
