I will be - the newest RiscPiC prototypes. (The latest version of which works, and should be on sale in very limited numbers at the SW show). But will there be anything else to mention? 2) Do we want to hold the meeting at the Eldon House, or venture to one of the possible locations for the post-SW Show meal in order to try them? TBH, having looked at the website for the Black Castle, I'm inclined to suggest that's the ideal location for the show meal - as well as being just over the road, the prices look surprisingly reasonable! (So they'll probably turn out to be tiny helpings ;) https://www.greeneking-pubs.co.uk/pubs/avon/castle/ So I'm half inclined to just send Richard the link and suggest we give it a try on the night (so to speak) - although it does need to be booked in advance. Also: The Eldon House is currently calling Wednesdays "Pie Wednesdays", and serving a pie, two sides, and a pint, all for a tenner - and I believe the pies come from a local outfit called Pie Minister, who give their pies silly names. I somehow feel this is vitally important information that needs to be considered. ;) -- Vince M Hudd - Soft Rock Software - www.softrock.co.uk RISCOSitory - www.riscository.com From stevegreen at clara.net Sun Nov 4 11:47:32 2018 From: stevegreen at clara.net (Steven J Green) Date: Sun, 04 Nov 2018 11:47:32 +0000 (GMT) Subject: [Bru-list] Next meeting: 14th November In-Reply-To: <996e7fcd-fd8b-4192-64ef-9446e7d24aba@dotcodotukat.co.uk> References: <996e7fcd-fd8b-4192-64ef-9446e7d24aba@dotcodotukat.co.uk> Message-ID: <5751a77afastevegreen@clara.net> On 03 Nov, Vince M Hudd via Bru-list wrote: > The next meeting is on the 14th November... and I have two questions: > 1) Is anyone planning to bring anything for inclusion in the > announcement? I think the biggest problem with the Black Castle (re going there for a regular meeting to try it out for the show) is that there will be less appeal for those of us who don't eat - I suspect the range of strange-named beverages may be limited and not be what everyone wants. -- Vince M Hudd Soft Rock Software - www.softrock.co.uk RISCOSitory - www.riscository.com From contact at 3rdevent.net Sun Nov 11 20:26:38 2018 From: contact at 3rdevent.net (Contact (3rdevent.net)) Date: Sun, 11 Nov 2018 20:26:38 +0000 Subject: [Bru-list] Next meeting: 14th November In-Reply-To: References: <996e7fcd-fd8b-4192-64ef-9446e7d24aba@dotcodotukat.co.uk> <5751a77afastevegreen@clara.net> Message-ID: <5BE8907E.1040402@3rdevent.net> Greene King pubs are fine, they have Abbot Ale. I posted the announcement to RISCOSitory/csa.announce last night, with Eldon as the venue. Until that point (your post aside, because I hadn't spotted it yet) I'd only had the one reply (Steven's), largely in favour of pies and therefore the Eldon House. Useful to know about Abbot Ale, though. Presumably that would be acceptable to other people who may come to the show in February who like that sort of thing. -- Vince M Hudd - Soft Rock Software - www.softrock.co.uk RISCOSitory - www.riscository.com From atdotcodotuk at dotcodotukat.co.uk Tue Nov 20 19:45:13 2018 From: atdotcodotuk at dotcodotukat.co.uk (Vince M Hudd) Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2018 19:45:13 +0000 Subject: [Bru-list] Extra meeting to sample the wares of the Black Castle? I've therefore booked it for five people, adding a note that it's possible one or two others may turn up. At the very least a table for five will probably be able to seat six anyway. The booking is for Wednesday 5th, at 8:15pm, on the basis that our normal meeting time is 7:30, but people don't always arrive at the same time. We can congregate in the bar prior to that. The online booking form gave me the option of the festive, buffet, or standard menu - so I selected the standard one (because it's the one I linked to previously on their website, so we all know what's on it.) Besides - the booking is for 5th December, 2018. That's exactly 55 weeks until Christmas. Far too early for festive nonsense. What I'm not going to do, because it's not a regular meeting, is post any kind of announcement. This is it. -- Vince M Hudd - Soft Rock Software - www.softrock.co.uk RISCOSitory - www.riscository.com From trevor.johnson at laposte.net Wed Nov 28 22:28:09 2018 From: trevor.johnson at laposte.net (Trevor Johnson) Date: Wed, 28 Nov 2018 22:28:09 +0000 Subject: [Bru-list] Extra meeting to sample the wares of the Black Castle? Clicked the wrong button and sent this to Q instead of the list...] Okay, so that looks like Chris, Ian, Steven, Q, and me for definite. Clicked the wrong button and sent this to Q instead of the list...] Okay, so that looks like Chris, Ian, Steven, Q, and me for definite. Clicked the wrong button and sent this to Q instead of the list...] Okay, so that looks like Chris, Ian, Steven, Q, and me for definite. This is it. -- Vince M Hudd - Soft Rock Software - www.softrock.co.uk RISCOSitory - www.riscository.com From trevor.johnson at laposte.net Wed Nov 28 22:28:09 2018 From: trevor.johnson at laposte.net (Trevor Johnson) Date: Wed, 28 Nov 2018 22:28:09 +0000 Subject: [Bru-list] Extra meeting to sample the wares of the Black Castle?
