Pass. Threading is broken in Messenger Pro for Windows, so I don't use it.

Okay, I've had a look at the headers of your other message, and the headers
that would normally be used for threading are present and correct:

|| Message-ID: <7b90139851.jim at nails.abbeypress.net>
|| References: <29769634.421988.1295280956608.JavaMail.www at wwinf8302>
<mpro.lf7xym003o13103wg.vince at softrock.co.uk>
|| In-Reply-To: <mpro.lf7xym003o13103wg.vince at softrock.co.uk>

The mailing list itself is therefore not doing anything wrong in that
respect. However, you do appear to have changed the subject line from:

  Re: [Bru-list] Archive and more interest [was Date discussion for first
meeting]

To:

  Re: [Bru-list] Archive and more interest

(ie the bracketed old subject has been stripped)

I'd suggest that perhaps Messenger Pro for RISC OS has an option somewhere
that causes a changed subject line to be treated as a new/seperate thread.

Briefly switching threading on here shows those articles that had the
original subject line in one thread, and yours - with a different subject
line - as a new thread. So MPro for Windows exhibits the same behaviour, and
possibly has the same option to switch that behaviour on or off.

<checks>

It does. In the Windows version's options, under Groups, there is "Don't
thread together messages with different subjects" With that disabled, your
message is correctly threaded. I'd look for a similar option in the RISC OS
version.

Alternatively, one good reason for keeping that option *enabled* is the
occasional situation I've seen whereby someone starts a new thread by
replying to a post in another thread. In which case, it's better not to
change subject lines unnecessarily.
