My feelings are that the subscriber numbers are still not viable to formally
(re)start a Bristol User Group. We had 12 subscribers before the South West
Show, and since then we've gained just one more - and of those members, I
know that a small number are too far out from Bristol to be able to attend
regular meetings, instead hoping to benefit from the list itself in some way
(which was a part of my thinking when setting it up)[1].

I therefore think that for now we should just concentrate on making the
mailing list a useful resource in its own right and keep the idea of a user
group on the back boiler. If the list can be useful, and that's made known
elsewhere in the world of RISC OS, then in time we might attract other users
from the area - and as the subscriber numbers increase, so does the
potential to start a user group.

So, how do we make the list useful?

What that needs is for subscribers to discuss things! I'm more or less happy
for anything related to RISC OS to be discussed on this mailing list,
especially if it has a local-ish context. (I say more or less because I'm
sure there are things I'll object to, but I just don't know what they are
yet, so I'll just play it by ear and say "oi!" if I decide I don't like
something).

Amongst other things, and despite what I've said above, there's nothing to
stop subscribers meeting up informally every once in a while. All that needs
to happen to make this possible is for subscribers to discuss the
possibility - so get discussing the possibility, people! ;)

That's the sort of thing!

Is there any scope for a new Bristol RISC OS user group?
